Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.
These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
