Major Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Power Across Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a young boy was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has intensified attacks on energy facilities over the past few days, while officials has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty missiles struck energy facilities, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to restore power.

A series of attacks hit energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Local officials said the city came under heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The strikes follow periods of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to identify.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were bracing for more assaults.
